TB Joshua: News of death increases facebook followers by 600,000, totals 6.2m

…As SCOAN announces burial arrangement

It has been revealed that the news of the demise of the popular Lagos Televangelist, the Founder and General Overseer of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet TB Joshua, led to an increase of 600,000 followers on his ministry’s Facebook Page, reaching a total of 6,200,000 – the largest of any religious figure in Africa.  

The church made the disclosure at a press conference to announce the funeral arrangement of the religions icon at Synagogue International Headquarters at Ikotun, Lagos on Tuesday.

Dr. Grey Tonge who chaired the briefing disclosed that the essence of the conference was to unveil a series of laying-to-rest activities tagged ‘CELEBRATING THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF PROPHET T.B. JOSHUA (1963-2021) – NOT MINE BUT GOD’S OWN’.

He said “On June 5th 2021, God took His servant Prophet T.B. Joshua home – as it should be by Divine will. His supernatural call home was met with an outpouring of millions of testimonies and tributes from 195 countries – representing every tribe, every tongue and every nation on the face of the earth. The news of his departure also led to an increase of 600,000 followers on the T.B. Joshua Ministries Facebook Page, reaching a total of 6,200,000 – the largest of any religious figure in Africa.”  

Tonge revealed that the burial of TB Joshua will run from July 5 to July 11 with series of activities “We wish to inform you that the week from July 5th to July 11th 2021 is dedicated to a series of laying-to-rest activities. All of these activities will be broadcast live on Emmanuel TV, available on GOTV, DSTV and streamed on Facebook.”

A breakdown of the Funeral programme shows that activities will commence July 5 with a candlelight procession starting time 6pm; July 6 to July 7 will be Tribute Service, Service of songs/all-night praise, and July 8 – lying-in-state 11 am – 5pm.

He further revealed that July 9 will be laying-to-rest service and interment – starting from 10 am which is open to the public with limited seating); while July 11 will be thanksgiving service 9am.

He said that the church is working in collaboration with the Lagos State Government to ensure a hitch-free funeral of the prophet. “In our abiding commitment to the ideal of responsible corporate citizenship, we wish to assure you that we are working hand in hand with the Lagos State Government and the Ministry of Health (both at state and federal levels) to ensure that the current public health and security protocols, as well as other general guidelines and regulations of the Lagos State Government and the Federal Government, are observed throughout the duration of these events. As Prophet T.B. Joshua says, ‘Good Christians are good citizens’”.
