2023: Stop distracting Akpabio, GPMI warns mischief-makers

President General, Global Peace Movement International UK, Dr Mike Uyi , on Friday said Nigerians should stop distracting the Minister of Niger- Delta, Senator Godswill Akpabio with 2023 politics.

Uyi in a statement said Akpabio should be allowed to carry out his duties as a minister of Niger-Delta.

He said, “Our attention has been drawn to reports in a section of the media of campaign posters in some of the northern states of Nigeria.

“Ordinarily, Global Peace Movement International UK would have ignored the reports, but for the interest of those who may be misled by the disingenuous plot.

“Akpabio knows nothing about the posters or those who may have promoted it.

“Akpabio is presently preoccupied with joining hands with other well-meaning Nigerians to help in finding solutions to the myriad of challenges plaguing the Niger-Delta region”.

According to Uyi, “For the avoidance of doubt, Senator Godswill Akpabio has not informed anyone that he is interested in the Presidency of this country. This is certainly the handiwork of mischief makers who are threatened by the Ministers rising political profile”.

“We are not surprised that political detractors will stop at nothing to see how they can distract Godswill Akpabio’s visionary leadership”.

“The aim of these posters is to put Senator against those that has indicated interest in contesting for the Presidency”, he said.

Since he took over as the Minister, Senator Godswill Akpabio has shown leadership in all strata of the society leading to the peaceful and harmonious working environment in the Niger-Delta states.

Godswill Akpabio has demonstrated both in words and in deeds that the essence of governance is for the general wellbeings of the people irrespective of party differences.
