Ohanaeze to FG: Don’t suppress Nnamdi Kanu’s sympathizers in court

Ohanaeze NdigboWorldwide, Saturday, cautioned federal government against any form ofintimidation, oppression, and arrest of any member of the Indigenous People ofBiafra or Nnamdi Kanu’s sympathizers at Abuja during the opening of the Kanu’sretrial on Monday 26th July 2021.

Secretary-General ofthe group, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, in a press released, noted that theInternational Community is watching and waiting to see if there will be anyhuman rights violation or abuse at the court.

 He said theremay be attempt by federal government to resist the crowd that will flood thecourt to witness if Kanu will get a fair trial, adding that if such attempt isnot well handled, it may lead to abuse. 

Adding: “We wishto categorically warn that at no time has the two apex organs in OhanaezeNdigbo, ” Ime Obi and General Assembly,” authorized anyone to act onbehalf of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, to observe, interfere andinfiltrate in the legal proceedings and retrial of Nnamdi Kanu.

 “Anyoneharmed in the process by angry members of Ipob while on ” LegalJamboree” will have himself or herself to blame.

“It has also cometo our knowledge that Fulani billionaire acting for ‘ unknown enemies’ ofNnamdi Kanu has mobilized some shameless Igbo elders on ‘Legal Jamboree’ tolegitimize the abduction and retrial of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

“We are callingfor quick political intervention of Southeastern Governors and Igbo politiciansto persuade President Muhammadu Buhari to opt for “Out-Of- Court settlement.

“While it isexpected that Kanu’s supporters should desist from any form of protests andprocessions that may incite the federal government against them as such willjeopardize the backstage activities to give Nnamdi Kanu a soft landing.

“They should knowthat their activities at the court if not properly handled will endanger theirlives. They should have it in mind that security agents are positioned toruthlessly deal with any Biafra agitators on protesters.
