A call for hope, a call for Ifeanyi Uba

By Chi Dika
How could something so intangible be a companion of power and the mother of success?

Why do sailors when faced with stormy weather, turturbulence in the seas and bleak horizon hold fast to something so intangible as they strive to get to the other side of the storm?

That intangible thing is a feeling of expectation and desire for the actualization of something, that feeling is called HOPE.

Whether you are a creationist or an evolutionist, you would agree that hope is the greatest gift ever to be bestowed on mankind. It propels us to live, drives us to excel, motivates us to survive and inspires us to invent.

Hope is what drives us, it’s what makes us who we are as a people. I could argue that it is the last of life’s elements that stays with us right to the very end, hope is life itself.

HOPE isn’t just about BELIEVING, but also EXPECTING.
HOPE deferred makes the heart sick hope lost may lead to loss in the sense of our identity, in the bearing of our direction, in the interest and very essence of life.
The South East, a region known for its glory, blessed richly with ambitious and hardworking people, a region that takes pride in its identity, its resilience, built by the unity and sacrifice of its people is gradually going into a state of disarray.

From the perceived marginalization by groups of individuals which allegedly birthed the IPOB agitation, and the continues deteriorating state of security, despite collective effort of government and security agencies to curtail, to the loss of hope by the youth especially, on the ruling class.

Unfortunately, the hope trajectory of the political south east is on a free fall and if left unattended, could lead to the next set of generation being raised without a sense of direction, what to stand for or believe in. It is indeed sad to see the once united and formidable front becoming more divided by the day.

Then a clarion call for hope by the people of Ndi Anambra and the South East at large; and to that end, a beacon of hope beams strongly to that effect. This clarion call is for a man, whom at any level of governmental representation, is willing to project first, the people’s interest, in the spirit of true patriotism and altruism.

This clarion call of hope calls for better days ahead, the hope of the rise of a commercial city in the east supported by feasible policies, favourable tax rate, infrastructure and security. The hope for inclusive government, of a new dawn, of a fresh start, of a society free of godfatherism , of better roads, of improved living standards and robust economy, of a visible representation at the national level. As the immediate future of the Southeast rest on this clarion call, hope is reawakened by Ifeanyi Uba’s answer to the call.

Ifeanyi Uba has proven himself worthy, not only because he fought his way through the closed political circle and won the hearts of the people, or that he has an answer to the possibility of a new Anambra and the Southeast entirely, but also because he is one who listens to the people, knows the plight of his people, and certainly has the interest of his people at heart.

No wonder Anambra South Senatorial District shunned the two major political parties in the 2019 polls and rallied behind him as he marched under the umbrella of Young Progressives Party (YPP), giving him the mandate and trusting him to protect their interest in the Red Chambers.

Senator Ifeanyi Uba in the slightest opportunity he gets, seeks the unity, progress and development of the entire Southeast region as he champions the call for inclusive government.

Finally, the Southeast can hope again, they can be heard and be listened to, they can rebuild as a collective and seek a common path of logical reality, form proper allies and be effectively represented. In ifeanyi Uba the eastern call for hope is answered.
