CP Dikko Gifts N1.25 Million IGP Welfare Fund To Four Officers

…MATAN Hails CP Dikko, Promises To Empower 100 Police Officers Wives

It was a joyous moment for the families of two deceased police officers and two other officers with health challenges as Kano state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, presented cheques amounting to N1, 250, 000 to them through the Inspector General of Police Family Welfare Insurance Scheme at the Bompai Police headquarters.

Presenting the cheques to the beneficiaries, CP  Dikko, urged them to make good use of the money to salvage financial problems in their families.

Those presented with the cheques were two police officers for who benefitted for medical expenses and two next of kin of deceased police officers.

CP Dikko  further stated that, “the welfare scheme was meant to ameliorate the suffering or hardship faced by the deceased colleagues immediate families before the benefits of such officers were paid.”


 The beneficiaries overwhelmed with the gesture of the IGP and  promise to make good use of the money as it came in time of need.


Meanwhile, the leadership of Market Traders Association of Nigeria (MATAN), Kano State Chapter led by the Chairman, Alhaji Abba Aminu Imam paid courtesy visit to CP Dikko, at the Bompai police headquarters, Kano. 


In his speech, the MATAN Chairman stated that; “we are much aware of the role played by the police in terms of security. Without Police, we can not operate our businesses. We are happy with the good work of the Commissioner of Police.”


 According to him, “whoever is in Kano must appreciate the good of the Police. There is cordial relationship between the Police and MATAN Kano chapter. We are here to seek for continued support and cooperation.”


The MATAN chairman also handed over 50 MATAN membership forms to the CP Dikko for registration, training and empowerment of police officers wives.


 He also requested that the Command in its capacity should buy 50 more additional forms to enable MATAN Kano State Chapter to engage members of Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) in entrepreneurial trainings and empowerments.


In his response,  CP  Dikko said he was extremely happy to receive the visitors to his office, adding that, “whoever want you to progress is your best friend.” 


The CP reiterated that, “the relationship between MATAN and police will continue to be cordial. We really appreciates your gesture and we will give you all necessary supports and cooperation needed. 


“The Kano state government is giving all necessary assistance to the command; and we promise to do even more to continue to protect lives and property and ensure adequate security in the state.”
