NYSC-DG felicitates with Prospective Corps member on childbirth

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, has rejoiced with a Prospective Corps Member (PCM), Ramatu Yunusa, who gave birth to a baby boy soon after registering as a member of the 2021 Batch ‘B’ Stream II service corps in Bayelsa State. 


Speaking at the Bayelsa State Referral Hospital, Kaiama, about ten-minutes drive from the NYSC Orientation Camp, Gen. Ibrahim expressed delight at the safe birth of the baby. 


He announced that the Scheme would settle the medical bills incurred by the PCM and her baby.


Briefing the Director-General, the NYSC Bayelsa State Coordinator, Mrs. Ojugo Elizabeth, said Ramatu was conveyed to the hospital as soon as she started showing signs of labour, adding that she gave birth to her child at 11:45 am on 2nd September.


The Hospital personnel that attended to the PCM, including a Corps Medical Doctor, Dr. Mbanusi Chiebonam Clara, confirmed that both mother and baby were in good health condition. 


Speaking during the visit, Ramatu and her husband, Liman Aliyu  Suleiman, both expressed appreciation of the support given to the family by the NYSC Management.
