APC creating hunger, starvation in Nigeria – Senator Anyanwu

Senator Samuel Anyanwu, who represented Imo East Senatorial district, has berated the All Progressives Congress (APC) as having only succeeded in creating hunger and starvation in the country.

Anyanwu disclosed this while addressing Ikeduru PDP leaders at his country home, Amaimo in Ikeduru Local Government of Imo State on Saturday.

He expressed the need for members of the main opposition party to come together to look for urgent solution to the menace.

The PDP chieftain said, “today, our revered leader, Chief (Dr) Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu is retiring from active politics having attained 79 years of age. It will be a thing of joy for all of us to team up in solidarity to celebrate him as a mark of respect to a foremost Nationalist of Ikeduru-Imo extraction in this period of his 79 years birthday anniversary.

“We should not allow his good intention to quit active politics to affect PDP in Ikeduru since he has produced young leaders like all of us.”

Senator Anyanwu further assured them of his commitment to always invest in the party not only at the LGA or Zonal levels, but the state at large, pointing out that such idea will go a long way to revive and sustain the peace existing in the party presently.

He charged PDP faithfuls in Ikeduru LGA to embark on membership drive to boost the chances of the party, appealing to those yet to register in the ongoing voters’ registration exercise to do so as soon as possible.

He enjoined members to be disciplined in their conducts to avoid dragging the party’s image to the mud.

Anyanwu assured party faithful of his genuine desire to reposition the PDP, expressing optimism that such decision will unite every aggrieved person and encourage interested members to join the party.
