LG says age of full HD is over and that means almost every new television these days supports a 4K resolution. That’s four times as much detail as before.
Depending on price range, most TVs will support High Dynamic Range (HDR) as well. However, HDR is a new pictorial standard that expands the colour gamut a TV can produce and the contrast between light and dark areas on screen. It’s the future of television on Netflix, Gaming and beyond, and you want to make sure your new screen supports it, either with Dolby Vision or HDR10+ ‘dynamic metadata’ standards.
The recent roll out of LG Electronics’ Dolby Vision gaming HDR technology on some of its premium televisions have continued to excite many customers of the electronic giant across the world. The launch, which follows the introduction of webOS 6.0 for its 2021 OLED, NanoCell and UHD smart TVs, makes LG the first TV manufacturer to offer the ability to support coveted Dolby Vision® HDR at 4K 120Hz for gaming compatible platforms.
LG first released the latest Dolby Vision update in June for its C1 and G1 series OLED TVs, then expanded it to include its OLED Z1 series, and NanoCell NANO99 series TVs. In addition, several 2020 TV models are being tested for Dolby Vision gaming in either 60Hz or 120Hz.
LG’s dedication to providing the best big-screen gaming experience while also providing viewers with a more engaging and straightforward content discovery experience is reaffirmed in the majority of the company’s next-generation TVs launched this year.
“With the new edition of webOS, LG is demonstrating its commitment of offering services, products and technologies that respond to the needs and wants of our valued customers ”said Mr. Mike Ahn, General Manager, Home Entertainment, TV Division, LG Electronics West African Operations. “LG ThinQ AI in webOS 6.0 now supports new voice commands for Google Assistant, making TV management and searching across streaming services, the internet, and broadcast channels easier than ever. The New Home serves as a focal centre, with everything displayed, full-screen to highlight selected content and associated information at a glance.
“Leveraging the latest in AI technology – TV voice controls and Magic Remote, all viewers have to do to get the info they need is speak up. Magic Explorer, an enhanced version of LG’s Magic Link, delivers informative content related to what’s showing on screen so viewers can learn more about the actors, locations and other items of interest in the movies and show they’re watching. The content dependent feature also delivers the easiest and friendliest shopping experience for products appearing across select broadcast channels and LG TV services including Live TV, Gallery, Settings and TV Guide by changing the colour of the cursor whenever Magic Explorer has information to share.
“Another new feature in the firmware is designed to take the gaming experience to a new degree of convenience. Game Dashboard is a floating onscreen menu comparable to the head-up display (HUD) featured in many games, and it’s available on all LG TVs with Game Optimizer starting in 2021. Users may rapidly access the TV’s settings and switch between genres – standard, first-person shooter, role-playing game, or real-time strategy game – without halting the action. Other settings such as dark stabilizer, low latency, and variable refresh rate (VRR) are also displayed on the dashboard. Users can launch the Game Optimizer immediately from the Game Dashboard to gain access to more options “Mr. Mike explained.
He added that “LG OLED TVs are widely regarded as the greatest TVs for gaming, with features that make games of any genre appear very smooth and play quickly”.
With their sleek, clean styling and design, LG TVs are the focal point of any room. Patented technologies and innovative features allow LG LED & OLED televisions to deliver unbeatable detail, colour and contrast. LG televisions offer high resolution picture quality with infinite detail.
Best OLED TV For Watching Sports: LG C1 OLED
The best TV for sports with an OLED panel is the LG C1 OLED. It’s a premium TV that has wide viewing angles, making it a great choice for watching the big game with a large group of people, as everyone will still see an accurate image. It’s very well-built and is available in a wide range of sizes – 55’’, 65’’ and soon to be released 83’’.
“Big games call for the biggest and best TVs and experts agree that LG OLED TVs are the world champions and with self-emitting pixels that provide perfect blacks, bright, vivid color and fast response times, only OLED TVs have the complete playbook to create a stunning picture and give you a front row seat to all of the action.”
The OLED C1 series has the following features: LG 4K Self-lit OLED evo – true brilliance in clarity of content; Perfect Color (100% colour fidelity) Eye Comfort Display; α9 Gen4 AI Processor 4k with AI 4K up scaling; ThinQ AI webOS Smart TV with NFC Magic Remote; True Cinema Experience supported with Dolby Vision IQ | Dolby Atmos and Unlimited Gameplay with GSYNC, AMD FreeSync Premium, LG VRR, HGiG HDMI 2.1, Game Optimiser
Fast-moving content looks very smooth because OLEDs have a near-instantaneous response time, so you shouldn’t notice any motion blur. It has fantastic reflection handling if you want to use it in a well-lit room, and although its peak brightness is just okay, visibility shouldn’t be an issue in most rooms. It doesn’t have any problems upscaling lower-resolution content from cable boxes, and if you want to stream sports, the built-in webOS has a ton of apps available to download.
More than five Reasons to choose Self-Lit LG OLED TV include Sharp Picture for Movie; Speedy Response for Game; Smooth Motion for Sport; Slim Design for Lifestyle and Comfortable Display for Eyes.
