Benue 2023: Ortom’s CPS consults PDP SWC

Ahead of the 2023 governorship elections in Benue state, Chief Press Secretary to Governor, Samuel Ortom , Terver Akase, has kick- started consultations with a visit on the Benue State Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) in Makurdi.

Chairman of the party in Benue State, Sir John Ngbede, while receiving the guber hopeful, informed that the PDP in Benue was now stronger and more coordinated with Governor Samuel Ortom as its leader.

The chairman stated that the State Working Committee has been involved in all decisions that have been taken by the present administration since Gov Ortom rejoined the party in 2018, adding it has turned the party into one big, united and coherent family.

 Ngbede noted that as a close appointee of the governor,  Akase will do well as governor, even as he describedadding that the CPS  was  a brilliant gentleman who has all  it takes to step into the shoes of his boss. 

Ngbede  reiterated the resolve of the party to adhere to  the tenets of equity, justice and fairness as enshrined in its  constitution and encouraged the aspirant to openly canvass for the support of leaders and critical stakeholders saying, power comes from God. 

Earlier, Mr Terver Akase, who was accompanied on the visit by his wife, friends and associates, told the SWC that, he had come before them to seek their blessings and permission to contest for the 2023 governorship election on the party’s platform. 

 He added that having served governor  Ortom since the inception of the current administration , he was fully acquainted with the internal workings of government and will uphold the tenets of a democratic government, if given the opportunity by the party. 

On security, the CPS  said if elected  he will  intensify the enforcement of all the security laws already in place in the state and held that, his administration, if elected, shall not cede any part of the state to its invaders, using the same courage and commitment that his boss has demonstrated.
