UAE fails to name govt official financing terrorism

The name of the Nigerian government official said to be among those sponsoring Boko Haram and other criminal activities was still being awaited as United Arab Emirates on Monday disclosed the identity of six others.


There are however claims that diplomatic pressure is being mounted on the Emirate government by some unamed Nigerians not to publish the name.

Recall that a Nigerian government official, not named was said to be involved in sponsoring the dreaded sect.
Over 100,000 civilians and security forces have been killed in the conflict that has inflicted untold economic damage on the country since its campaign began in 2009.

After it’s meeting on Monday in the capital Abu Dhabi, the Emirate federal cabinet, according to state-run WAM news agency named Abdurrahaman Ado Musa, Salihu Yusuf Adamu, Bashir Ali Yusuf, Muhammed Ibrahim Isa, Ibrahim Ali Alhassan and Surajo Abubakar Muhammad as the six Nigerians placed on the Middle-East giant’s watch list.


At least 47 other foreign nationals and entities were also added to the watch list by the UAE on Monday.
