Osinbajo To Commission Dangote Skills Acquisition Centre November

Kano state Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Wednesday, hinted that the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is billed to commission the Alhaji Aliko Dangote ultra modern skills acquisition center constructed by the state government by November.


Ganduje stated this, while conducting members of the Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria (BON) round some of the projects embarked upon by his administration.


BON members were in n Kano for their 2021 delegates conference.


According to the Governor, “by November this year (2021) the Nigeria’s Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo will come to Kano to commission the center.


” Operation will commence fully with five hundred trainees that will be splited into two groups. This centre is completed 100 percent by our administration.”

He added that infrastructure and human resources development are part of his administration’s commitment in boosting socioeconomic status of the state.


“To ensure sustainability of the skill acquisition centre, the management of the center is going to be handed over to the manufacturers of the machines. They will arrive at the end of this month from Europe.


” Alhaji Aliko Dangote whom we named this center after has already paid for their upkeep in US Dollars for six years,”  Ganduje said.


According to him, “the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has visited the facility last week and promised to give accreditation to the center.”


Speaking on admission into the Centre, Ganduje said, “to make the center more Nigerian, 60% will be reserved for Kano people  irrespective of their social background, religion and culture as long as you are living in the state Hausa, Igbo or Yoruba you are qualified.


” The rest of 40% is going to be shared among the 36 of the federation federal capital territory FCT included.”
The Governor said N5.5 Billion Naira was spent so far for the project, adding that, “technicians and instructors were employed. By the second week of this month training will commence.”


The AUTHORITY reports that part of the project inspected by Ganduje and the BON team include are Kantin Kwari lock up shops, sheikh Karballah, Panshekara/Madobi underpass, Dangi Underpass/Roundabout, and Bokavu barracks Underpass/Fly over. 


Others include Dangote Skill Acquisition Center, Cancer Center at Muhammad Buhari specialist hospital, Muhammadu Buhari Flyover/Underpass at Hotoro, among others.


Some prominent personalities in the tour include DG Voice of Nigeria Osita Ikechukwu, his counterparts of NTA and FRCN, among  other heads of public and private broadcasting stations across the federation.
