Venezuelan government condemns US over ‘kidnap’ of it’s envoy

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has condemned the alleged kidnap of its diplomat , Alex Saab by the United States of America in Cape Verde.

A statement by the Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Ministry released by the Embassy in Abuja stated that Saab was unjustly held in prison in Cape Verde, tortured and suffered inhuman and degrading treatments.

This according to the statement is a clear violations of the norms of international relations as expressed in the Vienna Convention and other laws governing human relations.

According to the statement Alex Saab is a permanent representative of the Venezuelan government dialoguing with the opposition in Mexico. A peace initiative brokered by the Norwegian government , the Russian Federation and the Netherlands.

According to the statement the attack on the envoy was aimed at trunketing the peace talks and frustrating the efforts of the mediating bodies.

The statement accused the authorities in Cape Verde of complicity in attack on Saab even when the people of Cape Verde are in solidarity with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

” The government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela deplores this serious violations against the human rights of a Venezuelan citizen, a diplomat and a representative of our country to the world ” the statement said
