 From Salisu Zakari Maradun, Gusau

Worried by the continued attack on the innocent people of Zamfara by bandits, a former member of the state house of assembly, Alhaji Umar Muazu, has suggested that prayer and fasting should be included in the measures taken by the government in addressing the ugly situation in which the people found themselves.

He also opined that all ceremonial activities be stopped across the state until peace is restored, as according to him, there are some of the immoral activities God frowns at.

The former member who is now the new sole administrator of Maradun local government of the state made the disclosure shortly after his arrival at the premises of the local government secretariat to take-over the affairs of the council.

According to him, the activities of the armed bandits in the state should not be allowed to continue and that there is the need for all and shortly to come together with a view finding lasting solution to it hence government alone cannot shoulder such a responsibility.

He explained that it is  high time now for all the people across the state particularly Maradun, which has now because one of the most affected areas did away with politics and jointly rid the state of such a calamity which has been there for many years.

The sole administrator also revealed that it is unfortunate and disheartening that upon all the efforts being made by the present government with regard to addressing the insecurity in the state, but still some undesirable elements are sabotaging the efforts.

Muazu further state that his council will do everything possible within its reach to collaborate with state government in its quest to ridding the state of armed bandits who are all out to destroy the state and by extension the region of the north west.”

This government is not relenting in its intention to bringing peace in the state and is glaring as everybody can see how it always moves from one office of the national security chiefs to another all with a view to finding helping hand and therefore there is no reason whatsoever for us told our arms without making any contribution that will give it the courage and wisdom to succeed in the crusade,” Muazu added.

Commenting further, the sole administrator stated that the affairs of insecurity situation involves everyone, therefore even if it involves one’s life or wealth, he or she should endeavour to sacrifice for the sake of humanity.” you can see how our people are being killed, kidnapped and the rest, so why should we learn back and allow it to continue.

The administrator therefore commended president Buhari for the concerns he always show to the state and its people in respect of the wanton killing by providing all that is needed towards putting an end to the lingering problem.
