Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya bags ‘TOUCH LIGHT OF UNITY’ award by GPMI

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya bags the ‘Touch Light of Unity’ award by Global Peace Movement International, UK.

Nigeria’s Army Chief was singled out for his dogged, brave and fearless approach in containing banditry, terrorism, insurgency and other criminal elements in the country.

The President General, of GPMI, UK, Dr. Mike Uyi stated this in a statement to newsmen on Monday, in Benin city, Nigeria.

He said under the leadership of General Faruk Yahaya, Nigeria’s military have recorded incredible progress in the war against all manner of insecurity in the country.

“From chasing the remnants of insurgents to the fringes, reopening previously inaccessible roads to the return of Internally Displaced Persons, the Nigerian troops are gradually restoring peace across the nation”.

“After careful observation by our investigative team, we realise that Yahaya is a silent achiever. He as a man of unity has gone round the geo-political zones preaching peace to the people, while his officers in the field are practicing their profession in line with the ethics of the constitution that guides the profession”

“The award is in recognition of his contributions to the fight against banditry, insurgency, and terrorism in Nigeria, he is a man that believes in the unity of Nigeria and GPMI will continue to celebrate him”, Uyi concluded.
