From Salisu Zakari Maradun, Gusau

Zamfara state governor, Alhaji Bello Matawallen Maradun has again for the third time, reiterated the determination of his administration towards restoring the lasting peace in the state at all costs.

Matawallen Maradun also called on the entire people of the state to continue to be law abiding and embark on prayers that will aid the government in its efforts to ending banditry and other heinous acts across the state.

The governor made the disclosure in Gusau, capital of the state when he addressed thousands of supports of the ruling APC who converged at the premises of the state trade fair complex to welcome him.

According to the governor, who was at the trade fair complex which was also the venue of the state congress of the party, uniting the people of the state is also part of his agenda and that he will leave no stone unturned toward achieving it.

He explained that no meaningful development can be achieved if there is no unity among the people anywhere in the world.

“What we need much and most in this state is nothing other than peace and stability. We have been on fire for over a decade losing our lives, resources and other valuables to the criminals, so what now left to us is prayer to God to restore peace in our state. And I want you people to know or understand that this issue of insecurity is non- political, we should keep politics aside and join hands together to fight it collectively because calamity has nothing to do with APC, PDP APGA or any other political party. So whether one is PDP member or APC and what have you should leave it aside provided he is an indigene of this state he is a stakeholder, even critical one”, the governor emphasized.

He commented that his government will continue to fight criminals who are depriving the people & the State & the opportunity to move freely, and the destruction & property & the people and taking the lives will by the grace & good be over. We have started it, and we will not stop until we are successful. We told the whole world that we will put an end to this some individual who are all out to eliminate innocent people for nothing sake: speaking further, the Government promised to remain firm on the fight against bandits and urged all and sundry to contribute their quota in that direction. On the issue of the state congress of the ruling APC, Matawallen Maradun expressed his satisfaction over the way and manner the congress was conducted in the state.

He commended the leadership of the party at national level for selecting matured people to come to the state to monitor and witness the congress.
