The Integrity Youth Alliance has commended the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Mallam Mele Kyari and his Management team on the suspension of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) planned strike.
In a press release on Thursday, 2nd December 2021 signed by the National Coordinator of the Alliance, Kelvin Adegbena, he said that Mallam Mele Kyari has once again displayed his capacity as a compassionate man who placed the interest of over 200million Nigerians at heart.
It will be recalled that following the interventions and engagements with the NNPC Limited, Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) suspended its planned strike.
The Alliance also commended the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) for its intention to ensure a hitch-free and effective distribution of petroleum products during the forthcoming festive period.
On Nov. 25, NUPENG extended a 14-day ultimatum earlier given to the Federal Government by seven days.
The planned strike was to protest what NUPENG called non-implementation of agreements reached with the government.
