Fii3rd To Release “Son of Imo” Jan 4

Fii3rd dreams of becoming as popular as Fela, 2Baba, Burna Boy, Davido, Tiwa, and Wiz with his latest song entitled ‘Son of Imo’.

The American-Nigerian music star said his kind of music stands out with their natural aesthetics.

He told newsmen that, “I want my name to be up there with the greats. Nigeria has produced some of the most talented musicians the world has ever witnessed. I just hope to, one day, see my name up there with those of Fela, 2Baba, Burna Boy, Davido, Tiwa, Wiz. I believe my music is good enough to achieve that.”

Fii3rd, who debuted as a musician in 2017, began as a hip-hop scene under the crew Phly Guyz. The first songs he released with them are “So Stressed” and “Gad Damn”; after that, he joined Amako Terry aka Bad, where he switched to Afro R&B type music.”

He said he chose the Nigerian kind of music because of Nigeria’s homeliness despite her peculiar challenges.

According to him, “There’s a certain energy you get when you’re here. Nigerians have kind hearts. If the conditions in our country were better, we’d have the potential of being the best nation in the world.”

On what makes his music unique, Fii3rd said, “I don’t want my sound to come off fraudulent. So when people hear my music, they know it’s all from the heart. I would say my sound varies a bit. Each song is its own. I would say, I range from Afro/R&B to Hip-Hop.”

He said he has eight songs, which would be in the label of ‘Son of Imo’, noting that he finds it difficult to grade them because all of them have their respective features. In his words, “I love each one differently. However, some stand-outs on the album for me would be ‘Amina’, ‘Wayo’, ‘Gbam Gbam’, ‘For the Money’ and ‘Get Down’. And of course, ‘Jafac’ is a personal song dedicated to my family, both alive and gone, so that holds a very special spot in my heart.”

He said the choice of Jan 4 2022 for the release of “The Son of Imo” is to mark his birthday and also ‘to shine a light on my lineage. It’s also the first of a trilogy album that highlights my life’s journey’.

His inspirations, it was gathered, are people around him, including Bad and Chopper. Quoting him, “It’s inspiring knowing we’re all walking the same lane and adding a little more to this genre of music—Nigerian music.

“We all want the world to hear the types of sounds we can produce in this country. It feels great being part of that. I don’t really like thinking about success in my music like that. I just want to make music that people would want to listen to everyday; songs they can depend on to get them through tough times and celebrate good ones. So long as I do that, I’ll continue to push myself and do my best to do it as often as my humanly body allows me to.”

Fii3rd has some pieces of advice for musicians: “When we pass on, what we leave behind is our voices. Keep telling your story. Each song is a stamp of that particular time in your life.”
