Anene Nwachukwu @49: Turns birthday to Thanksgiving in memory of late father

…Says Nigeria is auto piloted

The birthday of Prophet Anene Nwachukwu, the Bishop and General Overseer of RHEMA Deliverance Mission, Southwest, was held on Sunday, February 20, 2022, but rather than call it birthday celebration he called it a Thanksgiving, not just for any other reason, but he did so as a mark of respect for his late father. CYRIACUS NNAJI reports.

It was a day to remember, Sunday, February 20, 2022, because it was the birthday of Bishop (Prophet) Anene Nwachukwu (Oracle 1) the General Overseer of RHEMA in the Southwest. But rather than approve pomp and pageantry for the unique day in his life, he called it a Thanksgiving Day, an honour to his late father, having clearly avowed to mourn his father for complete two years before he can engage in such elaborate celebration.

He spoke on reason for having a low key birthday “Today I am 49 and at 49 I decided to mark it and to thank God for life He has given to me. My father, my mentor, my role model, my biological father, my spiritual father, Bishop (Dr.) Arthur Nwachukwu transited on December 28, 2020, and was buried on 26th February 2021, and I said to myself that I will celebrate his transition for two years before I start my birthdays, and the two years expire this year, 2022, by 2023 by His special grace I will be 50, so I said to myself, I have to thank God for 49, but let me celebrate 50 and that is the reason why  I decided to do a low key celebration today.

Incidentally, even though he called the birthday a low key one, what was on ground was not a small celebration. “You can see my church loves me so much, and the way they are responding to anything concerning me and my family is overwhelming, you can see how they are testifying during the cutting of the cake. I told them I don’t want celebration, they said no Daddy, we must give you something, and they gave me money that can buy a car, as a gift today. And the women also are reciprocating also, I thank God for the love my people have for me, it can only be God.”

Speaking on being a family man to the core despite his tight schedule he said “Well every man of God should be very close to his family because your family is your very first assignment. And if your family is not in order, your ministry cannot be in order. There is an adage, beauty begins from your home before you go out, if your children are rascals, your wife is a disgrace, that will affect the image of the church, so you have to organize your family the way it should be before you organise people.”

Speaking on upcoming crusade of the church in Ibadan, he said “You heard me say today on behalf of Bishop of Rhema, I believe all of you heard the statement of Bishop of Rhema and you heard the people screaming, shouting, I am going for that crusade in Ibadan with Bishop, Chidozie Nwachukwu, who is my elder brother, what inspired me is that, I said to myself that 2022, I must open three branches of Rhema in three states. We have one already in Osogbo; Osogbo Pastor was here testifying how the church is increasing and how they are progressing. He just came for my birthday. Abeokuta Church, they are doing very well, so Ibadan is like capital of Yoruba land, we have to have a place in Ibadan and thank God, God has given us a place, so I will be travelling to Ibadan with Bishop to establish that branch, and it is going to be a very powerful programme, 10th of March as earlier announced.”

Speaking on his Anointing programme which will soon come up, and what to expect he said “My prophetic Night of Wonders comes up every first Friday, and theme of the programme is “They that do know their God they shall be strong and they shall do exploits.” The Bishop of Rhema declared this year Our Year of Signs and Wonders. And you can’t be a product of signs and wonders when you don’t know your God, or understand who you are. So he is trying to let people know they have to be strong before they can do exploit. We want to let them know that they are fearfully and wonderfully made. Jesus said I and the children who the lord has given me are for signs and wonders, you can’t do wonders when you are not standing on the word, that is why the bible says, be strong in the lord and the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God that you may be able to stand and withstand, that is it, it is going to be awesome.”

Bishop Anene also spoke on the state of the nation especially on 2023, Oracle said, “If you look at events unfolding, you discover that Nigeria is a failed society. And Nigerian government is on auto pilot. There is no direction. So we are praying that God should give us a healthy leader, not only healthy in health but healthy in mentality. Because the way things are going, if Nigeria continues like this there will be a break up. All these agitations are as a result of hardship, people are no longer getting their own shares in governance. It is like government is one-sided. And the government is not even thinking about how to do things in positive way, so we pray that God should give us a leader that is healthy, that have something upstairs to govern Nigerians, and not those who are sick, not those who travel from one hospital to another hospital abroad trying to become president.

“Let me tell you this, Nigeria as I said before is on auto pilot and government of the day is not helping matters. Talk about zoning in this current dispensation, beloveth, equity and justice is part of our national anthem, and a country where one side are ruling, is wrong. Yoruba has ruled eight years through Obasanjo, the North has been there. I think the South-South has taken their shot, through Jonathan, the honourable thing to do is for the South East to produce the president of the country. And I can see that the north east are agitating saying it is their turn, when you are talking about north you don’t generalize it. North east like Adamawa, and the states around that place, Borno have not produced and that is why you see people like Atiku Abubakar fighting to become, and they said that southeast even though we think is our turn, that it should not be. I believe for equity and justice and fairness, the southeast should be allowed to take the shot.

On his development plans for the year ahead, he said “You know we have Rhema Bread now, Rhema Water, Rhema Fast Food, we are moving forward to establish more, for the benefit of the kingdom, and I want to assure you that God has been so faithful to us, why we are doing all these is to support the kingdom business we are doing, because if you don’t have support in what you are doing, people will ridicule you and these days nobody, some people do not have the heart to support what you are doing, so by his grace we will do more to the glory of God.”
