A front line stakeholder of the Peoples Democratic Party in Enugu state, Senator Ben Collins Ndu,who is seeking a return to the senate in 2023, has promised to collaborate with other National legislators from the state in attracting even development to the state..
Senator Ndu gave the hints while declaring his intention to go back to the senate in 2023 to delegates and party stakeholders from the five local government areas of Aninri, Awgu, Ezeagu, Udi and Oji River of his intention to go to senate in 2023 at the weekend in Enugu.
Senator Ndu who has been playing significant roles in the consolidation and execution of democratic dividends and seamless peaceful administration of Governor Ugwuanyi in Enugu state assured that he will harness the various natural deposits and abundant economic potentails in Enugu West district to endear even development of the zone.
He recalled he made frantic efforts in this direction during his short stay of less than 24 months(2001-2003),having moved motions for revitalisation of Oji River thermal power station, harnessing of Ugwuoba and Ezeagu mineral deposits, boosting the Awgu and Aninri Agricultural potentials before Senator Ike Ekweremadu ursurped senatorial seat of the zone in 2003.
Senator Ndu expressed optimism that his exposure and experience will count in stirring further socio economic development of Enugu West senatorial district and Enugu state generally with other National legislators from Enugu state.
He stated, “I want to assure you that I will not be a back-bencher in the Red Chambers. I know how to harness all the mineral resources in the five local government areas in the zone,”
“I have the capacity, the political will and the exposure to perform and create employment for our people. I, therefore, call on all party members to support me,”
The Enugu West delegates and political stakeholders from the five local of Aninri, Awgu,Ezeagu,Oji River and Udi,led by their respective party chairman, in their speeches assured Senator Ben Collins Ndu of their maximum support in his aspiration, however advised him to work closely with Governor Ugwuanyi, who is the PDP party leader in Enugu state.
It would be also recalled that Senator Ben Collins Ndu, on the strength of his good will and political influence across the several communities in Enugu West senatorial zone is instrumental to the harmonious peace and control PDP still enjoys in Enugu West senatorial district, most especially in the Ezeagu/Udi federal constituency of the district.
His mass mobilization of the grass roots from all wards in Enugu West senatorial district to the zone’s apolitical rally in support of Enugu state zoning culture termed,” Ifemelunma”rally,held at Awgu local government area headquarters recently,attests to the ability and capability of Senator Ben Collins Ndu,as a grass root politician, ever willing to serve the public. Checks revealed that the tussle for next Enugu West senatorial district senator in 2023 on the plartform of PDP is zoned to aspirants from Ezeagu/Udi Federal constituency of the zone,based on the fact that Senator Ike Ekweremadu who is from Aninri/Awgu/Oji River federal constituency of Enugu West senatorial zone,will be completed his fifth consist term of twenty years in the ted chambers on behalf of the zone in 2023
