Land Is Veritable Source Of IGR,  Says Kano Acting Chief Of Staff

The Head of Service and Acting Chief of Staff of Kano state, Mr.  Usman  Bala  Muhammad  has described land as a veritable source of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) growth. 

Usman Bala who disclosed this while receiving a delegation from the Bureau for Land Managment led by its Permanent Secretary, Dr. Zainab Ibrahim Braji, urged the Bureau to wden its horizon so as to generate more IGR for the state. 

According to him, “land is everyone’s business. It is more of the business of well to do individuals. So,  I urge the Bureau to use its initiatives to collect more revenue from them to help government become financially independent.”

He advised the Management of the Bureau to remain cautious  in handling issues before them with regards to land management.

Usman added that, “there were a lot of wrong doings in the past in the land Ministry, but I believe that with the presence of Dr. Zainab Braji at the Bureau, such issue no longer exist.”

He advised the Permanent Secretary to do away with bad civil servants and rid the Bureau of land fraudsters.

He added that those who performed well should be recognized and rewarded.

In her remarks, Dr. Zainab Ibrahim Braji asked the Head of Service, “to sit tight and so well to solve all problem bedeviling state Civil Servants.”

Dr. Braji congratulated the new him for his new position as Acting Chief of Staff and assured him of their support and cooperation.

She, however,  called on him to intervene in the issue of State Tertiary Institutions joining strike action embarked upon by Federal Universities, saying the educationally backward of the state or region like ours shouldn’t be part of industrial action.

The Permanent Secretary, said she remain grateful to God that workers in the State are enjoying their monthly salaries, unlike other states of the federation who default in paying salaries for months.
