The governor of Nasarawa State, Gov. Abdullahi Sule, yesterday presented the state’s 2023 budget proposal of N148.9 billion to the Nasarawa State House of Assembly for approval.
The proposal has a capital expenditure of N58.3 billion and N90.5 billion as recurrent expenditure.
Tagged ‘The budget of economic consolidation and continuity with education, the proposal shows the education sector having the lion share of N37.4 billion.
The Health sector got N18.6 billion, while Finance, Trade and Investment received N15.47 billion.
Other breakdowns were as follows: Agriculture and Water Resources-N11.32 billion, Security and SGF office N9.5 billion, Govt. House Admin- N4.6 billion, Legislation – N2 billion, Youths and Sports Dev. – N3 billion, Women and Social Dev – N1.02 billion, Community and Rural Dev – N10.25 billion, Law and Justice sector of state judiciary- N3.36 billion, Ministry of Justice – N896.13 million, Infrastructural Dev – N16.31 billion, Science, Tech and Innovation – N1.96 billion, Information, Culture and Tourism -N2.71 billion, Civil Service Matters -N1.41 billion and Pension and Gratuity -N7.42 billion.
