Enugu Federal Law maker elect, Prof. Nnamchi, unveils tech hub and innovation center.

……Says he is in a hurry to empower his constituents.

In addition to sponsoring over 150 students to take advantage of the Easter holidays to become computer literate, Prof.Paul Sunday Nnamchi,has unveiled a tech-hub and innovation centre to empower his constituents of Enugu East/Isi Uzo federal constituents and other youths in Enugu State.

Prof. Nnamchi, who is the newly elected House of Representatives for Enugu East/Isi Uzo federal constituency, said even though they are yet to be sworn in,but he is in a hurry to provide sustainable empowerment programmes in various endeavours for his constituents and by extension to the residents of Enugu state within his reach and connection.

The tech hub and innovation center is located within the premises of St Theresa’s Catholic church, Abakpa Nike, Enugu.

His words,” I am in a hurry to ensure that my constituents and by extension Enugu State feel the full-blown impact of our people-oriented leadership and clear cut people-focused innovations and programmes meant to better their lives”

According to him, the Tech hub and Innovation programme he is packaging known as ‘PROF PAUL NNAMCHI TECH HUB AND YOUTH INNOVATION(PPNTAYI) is about the youths and children, who are the abundant resources presently in the country,to see how best to tap from their energy and initiatives to reshape the future of the state and country.

He stated, “The PPNTAYI platform is a vehicle to deliver my campaign promises and to ensure that vast majority of our people not just witness but are part of the transformation change; thus, moving our people from consumption to production.

“I have the burning zeal to deliver the aspiration of my people that have been abandoned for a long time. I have limited time that explains why I am hitting the ground rolling even before I will be sworn-in.

“I intend to use the limitless boundaries of education, especially in various endeavour of human existence, to push my people up in the socio-economic ladder,” he said.

“PPNTAYI had numerous programmes including STEM education for youths, commercial education for adults, sustainable education for rural development as well as innovative for green materials, renewable energy among others”.

He stated further,“We needed human capital development and teaching our people the affects of climate change, which is real and it is already affecting our lives so that we care for the environment and people around us the more”.

Answering question on the impact he made in the society before now, Prof Nnamchi disclosem that he has a centre at Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), which mentors on rural sustainable development, where women and youths are trained on sustainable agriculture, conversion of waste to wealth and renewal energy among others.

Speaking earlier on why he sponsored the computer training for over 150 students in the tech-hub,Prof Nnamchi said he want them to acquire modern knowledge and skill to compete favourably with their colleagues in the advanced countries.

His words,“We are gradually moving to the level of highly skilled computer and IT professionals that can tap from the employability and innovation currently embedded in software programme design, coding and other advanced computer/ICT uses,” he said.

The benefitting students expressed gratitude to Prof Nnamchi for his gesture. Master Usman Emmanuel of Real Genius International College, Thinkers Corner, Enugu, received a cash award of N10,000 from Prof. Nnamchi,for emerging the best trainee.

Though the ICT training bankrolled by Prof Paul Nnamchi was targeted on Youths on holidays.but some adults who had zeal to be computer literate were tolerated.Mrs Ebere Onu, a lecturer at Enugu State College of Education(Technical) said the intensive one month free training offered her the opportunity to learn the knitty gritty of computer, the various packages. to type etc as such that she is now computer literate.
