The President of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Dr Al-Mujtaba Abubakar congratulates Bola Ahmad Tinubu who was sworn in today as the 17th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
President Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who was a two-time governor of Lagos State took over from a two-term president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.
Dr Abubakar who congratulates President Tinubu on behalf of the Executive Council and members of ACCI stated that a whole lot is expected from the president while praying for God to strengthen him to deliver all that he highlighted in his inaugural speech.
He said with President Tinubu’s wealth of experience garnered so far both in business and politics, “we believe that Nigeria will experience a new turn.”
“As expected, nigeria is waiting to see how the new administration will tackle the fundamental economic issues, security, employment amongst others.
He stated in his inaugural speech that, “security shall be the top priority of our administration because neither prosperity nor justice can prevail amidst insecurity and violence.To effectively tackle this menace, we shall reform both our security doctrine and its architecture.”
On economy, “we target a higher GDP growth and to significantly reduce unemployment. We intend to accomplish this by taking the following steps: First, budgetary reform stimulating the economy without engendering inflation will be instituted. Second, industrial policy will utilize the full range of fiscal measures to promote domestic manufacturing and lessen import dependency. Third, electricity will become more accessible and affordable to businesses and homes alike. Power generation should nearly double and transmission and distribution networks improved. We will encourage states to develop local sources as well.”
He also stated that his administration must create meaningful opportunities for our youth.
Dr Abubakar said as a Chamber of commerce and Industry, we look forward to favourable policies that would be beneficial to the business community thereby helping to contribute greatly to economy development.
“We do hope that this administration will keep to its promises in the area of security, employment, provison of infrastructures, every order promises and others.”
Once again, we congratulate, the 16th president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmad Tinubu and his deputy, Kashim Shettima.
