C’River Gov appoints ‘Abuja Inquirer’ Editor, Ogbeche, as Chief Press Secretary

The Governor of Cross State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has announced the appointment of the Editor of the Abuja Inquirer Newspaper, Mr. Emmanuel Ogbeche, as Chief Press Secretary.

Ogbeche, a seasoned journalist, who is also the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, FCT Council, was appointed among few others in the governor’s early appointment of aides after being sworn into office on May 29, 2023.

The appointments were conveyed in a statement by the Permanent Secretary, General Administration, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Innocent Eteng, on Monday.

The statement read: “His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu has approved your(Mr. Emmanuel Ipole Ogbeche) appointment as the Chief Press Secretary.”

Others appointed are:

1.  “Prof. Anthony Owan-Enoh – Secretary to the State Government (SSG) 

2. Hon. Emmanuel lronbar – Chief of Staff 

3. Major Gen. Okoi Ubi Obono (Rtd) – Senior. Special Adviser-Security (State Security Adviser) 

4. AIG John Abang (Rid) – Special Adviser – Security (Central)

5. Mr. Achu Ben Olayi – Special Adviser — Security (North) 

6. Commander Patrick Odiong (Rtd) – Special Adviser — Security (South)”

7. Mr. Emmanuel Ipole Ogbeche – Chief Press Secretary 

8. Mr. Sylvester Otu Abang – Acting State Chief of Protocol.”

According to the statement, the appointments take immediate effect.
