The two newly appointed Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGs)- Bala Ciroma and Frank Mba have been decorated with their new ranks.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Egbetokun Olukayode Adeolu, decorated them together with 14 Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs) of police and 22 newly promoted Commissioners of Police (CPs) in Abuja, yesterday.
Recall that DIGs Ciroma and Mba were few days ago appointed to their new ranks by the Police Service Commission.
The 14 AIGs include Abubakar Lawal, Alhassan Aminu (Rtd.); Abdul Umar, Williams Adebowale, Shettima Zannah; Ebong Eyibio Ebong, Adepoju Ayinde Ilori; Okon Okon Effiong, fdc; Echeng Eworo Echeng; Susan Ukpanukiema Horsefall; Bankole Lanre Sikiru; Oladimeji Yomi Olanrewaju; Odama Paul Ojeka, and Shehu Sani Gwarzo.
Speaking while decorating the newly appointed and promoted officers, the Acting IGP, Egbetokun Olukayode Adeolu, charged them to discharge the schedules of their new ranks within the dictates of the rule of law and citizens’ expectations.
He also charged them to demonstrate exceptional critical thinking ability; manifest sound professional judgment in all their decisions; and exhibit high strategic management and operational capacity with the hindsight that all actions and inactions will be accounted for.
Dignitaries that attended the decoration ceremony include
the Executive Governor of Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodimma; the Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Dr. Akon Etim; the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Barau Jibrin and other Distinguished members of the National Assembly.
Also in attendance was the former IGP, Usman Alkali Baba, Defence Attaches to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China; the Force Management Team; serving and retired Senior Police Officers, families of promotes and other dignitaries.
