Taraba State Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Hon. Aishat Barde on Saturday said the State Governor, Agbu Kefas is committed to the actualization of his 5 point agenda.
She said this when paying homage to her kinsmen in Zing, Zing Local Government Area
The Commissioner disclosed that the Governor is very concerned about environmental challenges, particularly climate change, erosion and flooding as they affect the livelihood of the people.
She said that towards this, Governor Kefas is already meeting with stakeholders within and outside the state to proffer solutions to ensure destruction of lives and properties is curtailed.
During the visit family members, elders, youths, and many groups led by the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) Zing LGA, Mr. John Sylvester, aka Bulldozer commended Governor Kefas for appointing their illustrious daughter to serve in his cabinet.
The Commissioner visited the Kpanti Zing palace to seek the blessings and advice of the Royal Father as she carries out her responsibilities in the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.
Receiving the Commissioner, the Kpanti Zing, HRH. Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim Sambo, who was delighted to see the Commissioner in his palace, appreciated her for coming and also thanked the Executive Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas for recognizing and working with his people.
The Royal Father urged Hon. Barde to be truthful and deligent in carrying out her responsibilities in the Ministry and promised that the people of Zing would give the government of Dr. Agbu Kefas their full support whenever the need arise and prayed that Allah guide him to continue implementing policies that would have direct bearing on the people.
The Hon. Commissioner also met with the religious leaders, during which the CAN chairman Zing LGA, Mr. Julius Nyasi and Chairman of the Muslim Council in Zing LGA Mallam Muhammad Shayabo both spoke on how the two religions have lived peacefully with one another.
She also met with party leaders at the PDP Zing Local Government Secretariat, where they pledged their support and total commitment to her and HE in discharging their duties. She promised to work closely with them to bring the desired development to the local government.
Hon. Barde also took time to visit Mama Jummai Eli Nyame , the mother of the former governor of the State, Rev. Jolly T. Nyame at her residence.
The Hon Commissioner thanked each and everyone for their support and solicited for more prayers and support for the administration of Dr. Agbu Kefas.
She was accompanied by top management staff of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, supporters, friends, and other top government officials.
The five-point plan of the Taraba Governor aims to promote development and growth in the following five crucial areas of Security, Peace, and Unity, Economy and Job Creation, Education, Healthcare and Women and Youth empowerment.
