By Felix Khanoba

The Speaker of House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen and the Honourable Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Barr. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, have met in Abuja.

The minister, who arrived the residence of the speaker around 6pm on Thursday, walked straight into a meeting with the speaker that lasted for an hour.

Although the purpose for the meeting was not disclosed, it is believed that it was connected with how to move the party forward and especially on what the minister recently described as campaign of columny by “mischief makers and conflict entrepreneurs” who she said were “out to pitch her against the leadership of her party, the All Progressive Congress”, APC.

The meeting is coming four days after a faceless group believed to have been sponsored by some politicians launched a media campaign against the minister just few days after she was declared the lawful winner of the Isiukwato-Imunneochi Federal Constituency election by the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Umuahia, Abia State.

After the meeting, Abbas and Onyejeocha were seen smiling and exchanging pleasantries and there after went for photo op.

Recall that a faceless groups had on Monday alleged that the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma and Onyejeocha were plotting to undermine the position of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, to unseat Abbas.

But Onyejeocha through her media aide, Emameh Gabriel, carpeted sponsors of the false narrative, describing it as baseless and mischievous and one that was coming from her detractors who have become so uncomfortable with her appointment as a minister and her victory at the tribunal.

She disclosed that she was already aware of a plot before hand to launch a media campaign against her, should the judgment at the tribunal turn out in her favour.

Both the Speaker, Abbas Tajudeen and Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, who is the immediate past Deputy Chief Whip of House of Representatives have served as some of the longest serving lawmakers in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly with lot of working experience and working relationship.
