Last week, the Benue state government through a press statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Sir Tersoo Kula, disclosed tha the federal government had approved general rehabilitation of three federal roads in the state. The roads include: Aliade-Gboko-Yandev, Oju-Otukpo, and Gboko-Lessel-Ihugh-Tse Mker federal roads.

In an appreciative remark Rt. Hon. Achado said, “Roads, particularly, the federal roads in the state have become eyesores, deathtraps and devastating experiences to users. The cries of the people over time for government attention fell on deaf ears until now. I am grateful to their Excellencies, the President and Governor Alia for heeding my earlier call on the floor of the House of Representatives for the repairs on the Aliade-Gboko-Yandev road”.

The Gwer/Gwer-West representative said he is aware that works on the Makurdi-Aliade-Otukpo road would soon commence, and appealed for the cooperation and support of his constituents to the various tiers of government to bring development to them.

Rt. Hon. Achado said there exists a harmonious working relationship between the federal legislatures from the state, disclosed that “our objectives at the National Assembly is to help better the lot of the generality of our people”.

“I wake always with the thoughts of my constituents in my heart. What I should do to improve their living standard and make them a bit more comfortable. These are the thoughts that occupy my mind. From discussions with some of my colleagues, I discovered we have the same reason for coming to the National Assembly”, Arc. Achado said.

The Federal legislature lauded the change Gov. Alia has brought to governance within just a hundred days in office saying, with what I have seen so far, there lies better days ahead for Benue state.

“Within a hundred days, and in a state almost cash-strapped? Payment of backlog of salaries, recoveries of monies from fake wage bills and award of contracts for roads in Makurdi metropolis is a big departure from the days of woes. I commend the governor for this and assure him of full support to do even more”, Achado said.
