The Department of State Services (DSS) on Thursday confirmed the arrest of embattled erstwhile Dean of Faculty of Law, University of Calabar (UNICAL), Professor Cyril Ndifon.
Prof. Ndifon is alleged to have been involved in a sex scandal involving some of his students.
In a press release, the DSS said it arrested Ndifon based on the request of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC).
The DSS press release signed by Dr. Peter Afunanya, Director, Public Relations & Strategic Communications, Department of State Services, National Headquarters, Abuja said ICPC had disclosed the refusal of NDIFON to honour its several invitations thus his eventual arrest in Calabar, Cross River State by its operatives on 4th October, 2023 based on a Court Order.
He said “However, the Service, following the Commission’s request and in the spirit of interagency cooperation, supported it for a successful operation. This is to guide public understanding of the latest developments on the matter.”
