Uzodimma’s 2nd Term: Tinubu storms Imo

President Bola Tinubu, is today expected in Owerri, Imo State for the second term inauguration of Sen. Hope Uzodimma and his Deputy, Lady Chioma Ekomaru, as Governor and deputy Governor respectively.

For the past one week, Owerri and its environs have been wearing new looks with people in joyous mood following the one-day Presidential visit to the state.

Since Friday, the assurances of the President to be physically present during  the ceremony as the Distinguished Guest of Honour got confirmed with the presence of the President aides constituting the advance party officials, in terms of securities, protocols and media, as they were seen in the town, especially at Dan Anyiam International Stadium Complex along Whethral Road Owerri, venue of the event.

The mobilization is top notch  according to Hon. Declan Emelumba, the Chairman Sub-committee on Media and Publicity, informing that 305 wards within the 27 local government areas of the State have been detailed and mobilized to be at the venue with over 50 persons from each of the wards.

Security in Imo State have been upped with joint military operations and security task forces ready to prevent and forestall any breakdown of law and order.

The programme will kick off as from 2 pm with the performances of ace musician, Phyno and other youthful musical icons as well as over 500 Imo school children displaying Calisthenics. 

Senator Chris Anyanwu, the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee in an interaction with The AUTHORITY in Owerri  on Sunday said that her committee is ready for the historic events.

Anyanwu assured the guests of events devoid of security breach as the committee is said to be proactive in terms of security of lives and property.
