Gov. Alia’s belief in Ganduje is still strong -CPS

By Chiangi Avese, Makurdi

The Chief Press Secretary to the Benue State Governor, Sir Terdoo Kula has called on those desperate to set Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia on a collision course with the national leadership of the All Progressive Congress, APC, to have a rethink.

Sir Kula who was reacting on Wednesday in Makurdi to insinuations that the Executive Governor of Benue state, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia had called for the resignation of the APC’s National Chairman, Alhaji Umar Ganduje OFR said, “the allegations emanated from very familiar sources within the ranks of the allied forces against development in Benue State.

“We wish to categorically refute the insinuations that the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has called for the resignation of the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Chairman, His Excellency, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR”.

According to Sir Kula, “these claims are origination of propagandist’s evil plot, with a devious aim to wreck the sound relationship between Alia and the National Leadership of the APC led by Alh. Umar Ganduje”.

Describing the allegations as “baseless and lacking any factual merit, Sir Kula explained that, “it is imperative to clarify that at no point did Governor Alia assemble, attend, send a representative, or participate in any meeting to discuss the removal or call for the resignation of the national Chairman of the most populous party in Africa, His Excellency, Alh. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje”.

The CPS said the Benue State Governor remains firm in his support and allegiance to the National Working Committee of the APC, led by Alhaji Ganduje, saying; at no point, whether publicly or privately, has the Governor advocated for or expressed any desire for the resignation of the National Party Chairman.

“We urge members of the idle opposition, both within and outside, who seem ready to devote all of their energies to fabricating falsehoods, to change course and channel these energies into substantive and constructive discourse rather than resorting to such frivolous and distracting tactics.

Governor Alia is a Reverend Gentleman, very focused and determined to continue in his deliberate efforts to change the fortunes of Benue State. He is alive to his responsibilities as the leader of the APC in Benue State and is doing everything legitimate to reposition the party for future victories”, the CPS said.
