Members of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) have implored God to intervene in the internal crisis unsettling the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and restore peace, unity and stability.
Led by the Deputy National President, Mr. Simeon Nwonu, the freight forwarders, who are also members of NNPP which was formed by the association, held a prayer session in Lagos over the weekend, where they asked God’s wisdom in resolving the internal conflict.
They also prayed God to touch the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, to drop his anti-party activities and break away from sycophants intending to use him to tear the party.
In a message titled, “Controversy,” a cleric, Mr. Jewell Ozor of the Evident Assembly, Ojo, warned those fueling the crisis that God does not remain silent in the face of controversy but “will command the storm to be calm,” adding that “every great man or destiny must be prepared for controversy to move to a higher level.”
On his part, the Founder of NNPP, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, explained at the prayer session that “it is not good for the house to be in turmoil. The Kano episode was an example. This time, the internal crisis does not make sense and it is even avoidable.
“Kwankwaso mutilated the party’s flag and logo on live TV. This action is stealing and conversion, it is criminal. Be it as it may, I expected them to build on the success of the Kano election, but at the end of this crisis, everyone on the right side will be respected and the party will come out stronger.”
Dispelling the rumours that the party has lost the case to the expelled persons in the splinter group, Aniebonam said it was mere propaganda, as “the court only said it was an internal crisis and should be settled in-house and not as being peddled by propagandists.”
Against this background, the NNPP has also written to the Independent National Electoral Commission to preserve the peace of the party before the determination of the case in court, he stated.
