Soludo sacks LG Transition chairmen

The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has sacked the Transition Committee (TC) chairmen in the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.

The Commisioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr. Tony Collins Nwabunwanne, announced the sack in a statement.

The statement dated 17th May, 2024 stated that, “the TC chairmen are hereby directed to handover the affairs of Local Government councils to the Head of Local Government Administration in your respective councils.

“The directive takes effect from Monday 20th day of May, 2024.”

“Meanwhile, the plans to replace the sacked TC chairmen are under way as the Stakeholders in different council areas has also been directed to nominate three persons among whom the Governor would in turn pick a person for the position for their respective council area”.

The governor inturn will send the list of the chosen persons to the State House of Assembly for confirmation.

The process of nominating the Successors started on Friday and it is expected that all the council areas would have gotten their three nominees for the office by Sunday, 19th May 2024.
