When on Saturday the 18th day of may, 2024, top political actors politicians, well wishers and the general public gathered at the prestigious Barcelona hotel in the Federal capital territory to witness the award of the title of ” IKUKUNDU 1″of the south east to the director-general of the Confederation of all APC Supports group, there was only one word in the lips of those present at the well attended ceremony and that is the kind word of appreciation to the people of the south east and the organizers for rising above petty political ethnic, parochial, and religious sentiments with it’s maturity in choosing the right man for this very important title, Professor Kialani Mohammed.
The organizers indeed got it right when they described the recipient, Professor Kialani Mohammed as an illuminant and radiant star worthy of the emulation of all because of his immense contribution to the political stability of the country and it’s growth and development. This award indeed also is a systematic departure from the past where people of questionable character and questionable wealth are given titles to a pragmatic approach to the future where titles such as the ones given to Professor Kialani Mohammed today are reserved for men of impeccable character as recognition for their selfless service to humanity, growth and development of the nation and the peace and development of Nigeria inorder to propel them to attain even greater heights in future.
Today, nobody is in doubt about the fact that Professor Kialani Mohammed is deserving of this award and this is because the director-general of the Confederation of all APC supports group is a man of many first and good qualities. His personal philosophies which he has practiced over many years as a leader and politician gave him an edge over many of those who were also considered for this title. As a leader he was a dealer in hope and an egalitarian leader who is even though the world is more familiar with pain than with compassion,chooses to be intensely compassionate by living a life that philanthropic .His shinning qualities includes; responsibility through reciprocity,honesty and loyalty through mutuality and deference faith and compassion through inner strength and self control and above all communality and mutual responsibility through love. This qualities indeed galvanized him into the likeable personality and respect he has both from his peers and political admirers scattered through out the country. So it will be right to say that the people of the south east must be commended for using such title like the IKUKUNDU 1,today given to Professor Kialani Mohammed to build bridge of unity across the country and giving honour to a man who deserves it.
Professor Kialani Mohammed to those who have known him for so long a time or worked with in the various spheres of human endeavour he had traversed acknowledged him as a man who has continued to play a critical part in maintaining the needed equilibrium and the unity in the country by helping in no small ways in raising awareness of the need for all to in their own little corner try to to be responsible citizens of the country. This is because as the leader of one of the most visible and result oriented support groups in the country’s history during the 2023 general election,he did not use that platform to only campaign for the victory of his party’s candidate but also campaigned as a promoter of harmonious co+existence of the people which he always referred to as the culture of peace. The Confederation of all APC support group which he helped formed and leads is the largest single support groups of any political party in Africa and this is because it is made up of about 130,000 registered support group which he aggregated together in one accord leading to the electoral victories of the APC and president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Confederation of All APC supports group scattered through out the nooks and crannies of the country can be said to have succeeded in it’s assignment because of the leadership qualities of it’s director general, professor Kialani Mohammed because as a leader he succeeded in facilitating the peace process during the last election because it was adjudged as one of the most peaceful elections yet in the history of the country. This was because he is an avid believer in inter-ethnic and inter-political party dialogue and this is because he was culturally and naturally prepared for it as a lesson he learnt from his parents.. Professor Kialani Mohammed is a man who has achieved a lot as a leader deserving of his present title of IKUKUNDU 1 because he has risen above frivolities and excesses that normally incur societal contempt for leaders. He had already achieved a high level of dignity for himself as a moderate,urbane,independent and descent in his speech action and dressing to earn him the respect of all.
Given all that has been located and affirmed as the leadership qualities and potentials in the leadership qualities of professor Mohammed Kialani both in the area of peace building and his capacity in the nipping of the seed of political conflicts in the bud during and after elections and considering his strategic position in the APC,all eyes now are on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to tap from his leadership by recruiting him into his government so that the country can tap from his potentials. Congratulations to the IKUKUNDU 1 of the south east.
