Governor Uba Sani has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to transparency and accountability, as it kicks off the first Open Government Partnership (OGP) Week in the state.
He said the administration is dedicated to deepening transparency and accountability in governance, and has taken several steps to institutionalize openness in government operations.
According to the governor, the state has adopted international standards such as the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and the Infrastructure Transparency Initiative (COST), to improve transparency and accountability in public finance and infrastructure development.
He explained that administration has also signed the Mutual Accountability Framework (KaMAF) with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), to enhance coordination and transparency in development partnerships.
Governor Sani applauded the work of accountability mechanisms such as the Kaduna Basic Education Accountability Mechanism (KADBEAM), the Kaduna Maternal Accountability Mechanism (KADMAM), and others, for their tireless efforts in promoting transparency and accountability in the state.
The OGP Week, which runs from May 27th to 31st, will feature a series of events and activities aimed at promoting open government and citizen engagement in Kaduna State.
