BSUTH has no room for laxity – CMD charges staff

The Chief Medical Director, Benue State University Teaching Hospital, BSUTH, Dr. Stephen Hwande, has charged the Public Relations Unit to intensify efforts in helping to reposition the facility to state, nation, and the world.

Dr. Hwande who made the charge on Friday when he met with new and old employees of the unit said, as the hospital’s image makers, the unit holds the key that will significantly shape public perception of the facility.

The CMD emphasized the importance of dedication, particularly of the new staff, during the probation period leading to their formal confirmation . He challenged the unit to showcase the hospital’s achievements by projecting its activities to the outside world.

Reaffirming his commitment to transforming the hospital into a one-stop facility and a medical hub in Nigeria and beyond, the CMD said, a medical exhibition and seminar that is expected to come up in July which is aimed at updating participants on modern trends in the health sector, will feature medical experts and pharmaceutical giants from within and outside the country.

Dr. Hwande urged the Public Relations Unit to give the upcoming event the necessary publicity to get the Benue State health stakeholders and Nigerians to know of the positive new turn of events at the Teaching Hospital.

Additionally, Dr. Hwande informed of the plans to establish a VIP ward for top government officials and members of the public who require isolated care. This initiative aims to provide personalized services to patients who requires it.

Responding, the Head of Public Relations, Mr. Hough Cephas, thanked Dr. Hwande for engaging with the Department and assured that the unit will meet the expectations.

He promised a positive projection of the facility’s image to the public as contribution of the uint to the hospital’s success story, which is on a positive trajectory.”
