Benue FA Chairman off the hook as suspected assassins invade Abujaresidence

Gunmen suspected to be assassins, early Sunday morning, invaded the Abuja residence of Benue State Football Association (BSFA) Chairman, Chief Barr. Paul Edeh.

Findings revealed that the gun-wielding men around 2am, with several weapons, broke into the residence located at Guzape area of the Nation’s capital and carted away Chief Edeh’s many valuables worth millions of naira.

Incidentally, the BSFA Chairman was away to Benue state to commiserate with the family of late Apa local football council area chairman as well as flag off an ongoing U17 grassroots football tournament.

A source within Guzape area who spoke on the attack by the armed men expressed concern that the operation which was strategically carried out only at Chief Edeh’s house, out of others within the estate and the entire location might not be unconnected to an attempt on Benue FA Chairman’s life.

When contacted, Chief Edeh who spoke from Makurdi, Benue state capital was shocked but said FCT Police command through Asokoro divisional headquarters has been notified concerning the incident.

He said, “I’m still in shock because such an attack which was done only on my house is unbelievable. It was around 6am that I received a call from Abuja that my house was burgled and that my room was ransacked with my laptops which contain several information and documents.

“The invaders also took away my wife and children’s phones including other valuables. The incident has been reported to FCT Police.”

Already, the Police personnel have visited the house being the scene of the incident to ascertain the extent of damages.

However, the Police authorities are yet to comment on the incident.
