Popular disc jockey, Iwuagwu Patricia Ebere, better known as DJ Commissioner Wysei has reacted to the allegations of assaulting a female police officer.
The DJ vehemently denied the charges, claiming she was instead the victim of the drama.
The controversy erupted when the State Police Command spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, announced on social media that DJ Commissioner Wysei had been remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Facility for assaulting police officers, resisting arrest, and obstructing police duties.
The DJ, however, has countered this narrative, insisting that she was granted bail on the same day of her arrest and never spent a night in prison.
According to DJ Commissioner Wysei, the incident stemmed from a dispute with a promoter who owed her money and caused her significant mental distress.
After initially agreeing to an out-of-court settlement, the situation escalated when the suspect was released from police custody without her knowledge.
In an attempt to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s release, the DJ alleges she was physically assaulted by a female police officer, sustaining injuries to her eye.
The DJ further claims that she was subsequently detained and charged with assaulting and obstructing police officers, despite being the complainant in the initial incident. The case against her was eventually dismissed in court.
DJ Commissioner Wysei has since moved on with her music career.
