2 Kogi officials voluntarily report at EFCC headquarters amidst corruption allegations

Two Kogi State Government officials, Abdulsalami Hudu and Umar Oricha, reported to the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday following media reports that a Federal Court in Abuja had declared them wanted.

Their decision to present themselves at the EFCC office appears linked to recent reports that the Federal High Court in Abuja issued an arrest order for Hudu and Oricha due to allegations of suspicious financial transactions.

Justice Emeka Nwite reportedly granted the order last Tuesday in a motion ex parte filed by the EFCC, registered as suit number: FHC/ABJ/CS/909/2024.

The officials stated that they chose to report to the EFCC voluntarily, as law-abiding citizens, to clarify their positions on the allegations, despite not receiving any formal warrant or invitation from the anti-corruption agency.

The EFCC’s motion, as reported by the media, indicated that one of its investigators, Audu Abubakar, is looking into corruption charges against the two officials.

As of this report, Abdulsalami Hudu, former cashier at the Kogi State Government House, and Umar Oricha, Director General of Government House Administration, were seen at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja.
