The Minister of State.
Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, Esq.
has condoled the people of Gatawa of Sabon Birni Local Government Area, Sokoto State and the entire family of Sarkin Kudu Gatawa Isah Muhammadu Bawa on the sudden death of their ‘illustrious Son, the District Head of Gatawa.’
The Minister in a statement he personally signed
described the incident that led to death as ‘unfortunate, barbaric and cowardly act of bandits which must not go unpunished.’
It reads in parts; “I write with a heavy heart to condole the good people of Gatawa of Sabon Birni Local Government Area, Sokoto State and the entire family of Sarkin Kudu Gatawa Isah Muhammadu Bawa on the sudden death of your illustrious Son, the District Head of Gatawa.
“The incident that led to the death of the District Head of Gatawa, Alh. Isah Muhammadu on Wednesday can only be described as unfortunate, barbaric and cowardly act of bandits which must not go unpunished.
“Before his sudden death in the hands of these callous bandits, the traditional ruler was a great leader and peace-loving traditional ruler who served his people diligently and with a good heart. I have no doubt, that he will continue to be remembered for his good works.
“I pray that the Almighty Allah will forgive the shortcomings of the late traditional ruler, Isah Muhammadu Bawa and give the entire family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
“Indeed, my heart and prayers are with you all in this moment of your sorrow and grief. Kindly accept my deepest condolences and sympathies.”
