Edo guber : Ighodalo ahead of Okpebholo, Akpata, others – API poll

Ahead of the 21st September governorship election in Edo State, Africa Polling Institute (API) has announced the results of its recent public opinion poll in the state.

The poll, which indicates a significant proportion of undecided voters, shows that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Asue Ighodalo, was ahead of other contenders.

A report issued by API on the pre-election poll, reads : “Africa Polling Institute is pleased to present the results and findings from its latest public opinion polling activity – the EdoState2024 Pre-Election poll.

” The poll puts Mr. Asue Ighodalo, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ahead of his two closest opponents, Mr. Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Mr. Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP).

” The state-wide poll, conducted between August 12th and 16th, 2024, aimed at capturing the perceptions and attitudes of Edo State Citizens, Residents, and Voters on the forthcoming Gubernatorial Elections in the state. In summary, the poll revealed that Mr. Asue Ighodalo (with 43%) is currently in a strong position, maintaining a 23-point lead over his closest opponent, Mr. Monday Okpebholo. “
