FG Urged to Address Pressing Issue of Food Crisis In Nigeria

In a bid to address the pressing issue of food Crisis in the country, the federal government have been urged to create enabling environment that fosters business growth and allows the private sector to thrive.

Addressing the House of Representatives press corps at the National Assembly today in Abuja, the CEO of Davidolar Nigeria Limited, Amb. Oluwasegun Alabi, emphasized that it is essential for the government to further engage the right people in the agricultural sector, individuals and organizations with proven track records and deep understanding of the industry to solve the current economic challenges.

While acknowledging the effort of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in improving the economy, Amb Alabi reiterated that the agricultural sector and partnership with the right stakeholders will further improve the economy.

While speaking on the value of Pineapple in improvement of Agriculture that will improve the countries economic development, Alabi said training of farmers in good agricultural practices (GAP) will ensure their produse meets the highest quality standards and improved cultivation methods.

According to Alabi, with improved pineapple farming, Nigeria will become an exporter of pineapple and the highest producer of pineapple in not just Africa but the world.

He however informed that as a stakeholder, it is dedicated to empowering 50,000 Nigerian youth/farmers, providing them with 50,000 hectares of land and comprehensive training and all the necessary resources to succeed a pineapple farmers with government support and partnership.
