Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has extended warm felicitations to Vice President Kashim Shettima on his 58th birthday.
In a statement, Kalu praised Shettima as a dedicated patriot who has made significant contributions to Nigeria’s development. He highlighted Shettima’s unwavering commitment to the country’s progress.
Kalu specifically commended Shettima’s leadership during his tenure as Governor of Borno State, particularly during the height of insurgency in the North East. He noted that Shettima stood firm in his resolve to combat insecurity and terrorism.
As a Senator representing Borno Central from 2019 to 2023, Shettima made several legislative interventions that positively impacted his constituents and Nigerians at large. Kalu acknowledged these accomplishments and praised Shettima’s dedication to public service.
The Deputy Speaker further acknowledged Shettima’s effective discharge of his duties as Vice President. He described Shettima as a champion of peace, who has worked tirelessly to promote harmony and stability in the country.
Kalu expressed gratitude for Shettima’s supportive role in the Peace In South East Project (PISE-P). He particularly appreciated Shettima’s representative capacity at the event on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which held in Bende, Abia State on December 29, 2023.
Kalu concluded by wishing Vice President Shettima a joyous birthday celebration and praying for many more years of good health and blessings. He joined numerous well-wishers in celebrating this milestone birthday.
