2027 Election: Gov Abdulrazaq ‘ll hand over power to youth as successor–Hon Magaji

Kwara state Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is expected to hand over power to a young successor come 2027, says Kwara state Assembly House leader, Hon. Abdulkadir Oba Magaji.

Hon.Magaji made this statement during a youth engagement and award presentation event organized by the Ilorin West APC ward youth leaders, in Ilorin, the state capital.

He said the governor’s actions and appointments so far have shown a shift in the political landscape that is expected to yield power to the young leaders in 2027.

Hon.Magaji while highlighting the governor’s appointments as indicative of a political shift, suggesting that capable young leaders will emerge in Kwara’s government house.

“Some commissioners and appointees at their engagement, then and now, have not even married and as things are going, shows the governor will hand over to a youth come 2027. We have capable hands here and elsewhere that will not disappoint whenever they find themselves in Kwara government.”

The Governor was represented at the event by the State Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mrs. Toyosi Thomas, who reiterated that Ilorin West is the leading council in the state and should reflect this through their votes in the upcoming council election.

The group’s coordinator, comrade Mashood Salman applauds the governor’s commitment to good governance, stating that it has positively impacted various sectors in the state.

He highlighted the governor’s dedication to infrastructural development, education, healthcare services, and economic growth, which he said is propelling Kwara State towards a brighter future.

Several notable figures who attended the event are; Dr. Abdulwasiu Olayinka Tajudeen, General Manager of the Kwara State Social Investment Programme; Alhaji Abdullateef Gidado Alakawa, former Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development; Hon. Ibrahim Orire, Special Assistant on Transport to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and Hon. Fatai Abdullahi, Development Officer for Ilorin West Local Government.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to some eminent personalities in the state including Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and other party leaders, in recognition of their contributions to the party’s development.
