Anambra LGA Polls: NULGE calls for enabling environment

From Isaac Ojo Awka

The Anambra State President Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Nicholas Aromeh has tasked the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission(ANSIEC) to offer an enabling environment for the polls.

Comrade Aromeh said the September 28 LGA election is very critical to the people of the state, especially the local government workers.

He commended Gov Charles Soludo for taking the bulls by the horns by deeming the local government election necessary in his first tenure in office.

The NULGE boss stated that with the conduct of the local government election in Anambra state at scheduled date, Gov Soludo has fulfilled his promise to the people of the state as a leader who has the interest of his people at heart.

Comrade Aromeh maintained that if the election is conducted in accordance with the electoral laws, candidates with impeccable character, integrity, fear of God and above all, candidates with the people’s welfare at heart, would emerge the winners.

He urged the people of the state to guard against all forms of illicit activities that could mar the election which he noted would be detrimental not only Ndi-Anambra, but the entire local government system.
