No room for religious discrimination, laziness, Taraba Perm Sec warns staff

Permanent secretary Bureau for Local Government, Tradition and Chieftaincy Affairs (BLGCA) Engr. Godfrey Andrew Dame has warned staff against religious discrimination, gossip and laziness in office as he takes over affairs of the bureau.

He said the early warning became imperative as the bureau will not tolerate any act of religious discrimination, gossip, laziness and late coming to office among others.

Dame who stated this in Jalingo shortly after receiving the handover note made it categorically clear that coming to bureau was not intended to witch-hunt staff but to deliver and make an impact that was expected of him as permanent secretary.

He said his doors are widely opened for staff with useful ideas that could afford bureau and opportunity of moving forward.

The permanent secretary who expressed gratitude to Governor Agbu Kefas for giving him the opportunity to serve in the bureau also thanked the acting permanent secretary for commitment during his acting capacity and assured management and staff of cordial working relations as well as living above board.

Earlier in his remarks, immediate past permanent secretary/overseer Decean Benjamin Kussa Baissa noted on assumption of duty in April this year on acting capacity enjoined the cooperation and support of all staff despite age and seniority in service.

Baissa observed throughout his period, the bureau was a one united family as no one was witch-hunting; rather, enjoyed the staff to accord the new permanent secretary the same maximum support.

He described the staff as hardworking personnel with total commitment and dedication just as he pointed out that he remained guilty to those he offended along the line in the cause of exercising responsibility.

The immediate outgone overseer, who louds governor Agbu Kefas for saddled him the opportunity to head bureau for six months assured that, he will continue to render services and support to ensure that bureau stands the test of time for the purpose its intended for, noting that the handing over documents contents records of all activities carryout within period under review.
