To instill discipline and development among students, a week long Inter-Secondary Schools Competition organized by the North East Development Commission ( NEDC) in collaboration with the Yobe state government has ended at the Federal Polytechnic Stadium , Damaturu .
The Competition was organized to instill talent , discipline and develop physical and mental health of students across the state .
In his opening speech at the occasion , a representative of the Executive Governor of Yobe State , Alh . Barma Shettima who is also the Commissioner of Youth and Sports , highly appreciates the organisers of the competition , urged students to play the game according to it’s rules.
He emphasized that this competition will enable students to carry out their various careers in different field of endeavors and praised students to be good ambassadors of the state by winning laurels .
The event which comprised of various sporting activities ended with Government Science Secondary School , Nguru defeating Government Secondary School, Damaturu by 4-2 goals to emerge the overall winner of the competition.
Prizes were later awarded to the various participants at the closing of the competition .
