Onu left unimaginable legacies says Gov Nwifuru, bids him farewell

***Donates 100 million to complete church project

Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi state, has extolled the good virtues of Dr Christopher Ogbonnaya Onu, saying that he has left indelible legacies when he was alive even as the former governor of Abia state and former minister of Science and Technology.He noted that Dr Onu contributed alot for towards the development of this country ; even as the former governor of Abia state.He also appreciated Governor of Abia state,Dr Alex Oti for naming state Polytechnic after Dr.Onu.Gov Nwifuru further pledged to support the building of the Christ the King Catholic church with 100 million naira.

Governor Nwifuru explained that Dr. Onu was a true progressive who worked assiduously to ensure the progress, unity and stability of Nigeria and Ebonyi State inclusive.The Presidential candidate of Labour Party in the 2023 general election, Mr. Peter Obi, both serving and former Governors in the South East region, Ministers, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen Anyim Pius Anyim, Ebonyi APC chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha were among political leaders that attended the burial ceremony,

The officiating ministers include; the President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), Archbishop Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki, Dr Peter Nworie Chukwu, other Bishops and a host of other priest.

Dr Ogbonnaya Onu died at the age of 72 years in April, this year with his wife, 4 children and other relatives to mourn his earthly departure to eternal glory.
In attendance during the burial are Governors of Ebonyi,Enugu,Abia,Anambra,and Imo.Also, the former presidential candidate of Labor Party,Dr Peter Obi,Anyim Pius Anyim, national chairman of APC, National Assembly members, among other dignitaries too numerous to mention are all
