The coordinator Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), Felix Obuah has vowed to deal with the officials and union leaders allegedly involved in seeking bribe from Apo automobile part sellers to be relocated to Wasa.
He disclosed this during a meeting with the traders on Thursday, to update them on the exercise.
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) had few months ago through the council raised a committee to spear head the relocation of Apo mechanic market to Wasa, the permanent site.
Obuah said individuals allegedly collecting money from unsuspecting traders with the promise of allocating land to them, if found will be handed over to security agencies.
He also revealed that some dubious union leaders had collected from six hundred thousand to one million naira per a trader, which is against the approved three hundred thousand naira non refundable fee for land registration for the relocation exercise of traders on the road corridors.
The coordinator said eleven thousand individuals have so far registered for the relocation.
He acknowledged the difficulties being faced in handling the traders, but said over forty five thousand names were submitted initially by different unions which he described as inflated lists.
According to him, the list of those to be relocated has been over blotted, saying the development made the council to conduct physical enumerations of the affected traders.
He noted that plan to relocate the traders have suffered different set backs about twenty five years ago but would be concluded by the current administration.
