The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) FCT Chapter, has congratulated with the Nigeria Union of Journalists FCT council over the peaceful conduct of the just concluded election of its executives.
The election brought a first female chairman of the council, Grace Ike since its creation over 43 years ago.
This achievement is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and leadership prowess of Comrade Grace Ike.
Her election as the first female Chairman of the FCT NUJ Council is a step forward for women in journalism and a source of inspiration for them.
In a statement issued on Thursday by Comrade Bassey Ita Ikpang Chairperson, NAWOJ FCT Chapter said, “We are confident that under her leadership, the Council will continue to thrive and address the challenges facing journalists in the Federal Capital Territory.
The statement reads, “Once again, we congratulate Comrade Grace Ike and the entire FCT NUJ Council Executives on this well-deserved achievement.
“We look forward to working closely with them to promote the interests of journalists and advance the cause of journalism in Nigeria”.
